This was their Warner Brothers debut and their final album on their initial incarnation in 1980. On this one they did a few more covers than normal but kept their country soul groove going throughout. Led by Russell Smith’s vocals this band was a bit ahead of their time in both the country and roots country scene. However, that didn’t stop them from having a huge fan base and some monster hits. Fans of Southern country soul will ease right into this one and it’s many wonderful songs.
