Dublin’s favorite son is back with an all new recording. For this one he went into the studio with his two man back up group and recorded it all live in one day. This was the plan all along. They rehearsed the songs until they owned them and then headed toward the studio to make it all a matter of public record. It’s a mix of covers and a few new tunes that have become crowd favorites over the past couple of years. The highlight is a mournful cover of “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda” that reminds us the more things change the more they stay the same.
