2011 continues to be a watershed year for Tom and his music. While many artists would be content to coast at this point in a long and rewarding career Tom continues to explore and push boundaries. Recorded in Nashville, Tucson, Texas and Los Angeles, Tom and co-producer Barry Walsh weave a sonic landscape that reveals new layers with each listen. All star help from Lucinda Williams, Augie Meyers, Calexico, and Van Dyke Parks help him deliver his vision of the world we find ourselves living in. To cap off the album he includes the title track recorded for the new Monte Hellman (Two Lane Blacktop) “Road To Nowhere,” his own version of "Love Abides" from "The Man From God Knows Where," and a rousing multi-artist cover of Dylan’s “A Hard Rains-A-Gonna Fall” that will have you reaching for the repeat button. Even though you didn't ask, my favorite right now is "Goodnight Jaurez." He’s made any number of classic albums over the years, but this one is going to be hard to top. Enjoy.
